so women and football don't mix? not so claims our Orange girlie Becky Gazeley

HAPPY New Year and what a start to 2008. So much has happened, but I don’t want to hover over the rubbish bits (there won’t be much to write about then – Ed!)

Mick Harford is back and it’s so delicious to have the ’80s heart-throb at the helm. You know with Mick you won’t get any of this silly sales patter or random outbursts. It’s just the boost we needed! He has said that we can survive and I believe in him, 2020 and the players. Yes, we can get out of this mess.

Remember, not long ago we were getting promoted with Mick and we were in the Championship. I heard somebody describe us recently as the “Britney” of the Football League. How dare they! As far as I’m concerned every-body is wearing underwear! And, in any case, Britney is a complete mentalist and Luton got rid of all of those just recently!

The Liverpool matches have been the highlight of this otherwise slightly poor season and I have to say how amazed I was at the amount of us who went. What an amazing ground. Super big and all those female Liverpool fans singing for their team. Perhaps we should take a lip gloss out of their make-up bag (or a leaf out of their book) and make sure that the lads know we really are behind them.

The atmosphere at the last couple of games was electric, I have nearly wet myself with excitement. Sing as loud as possible and let’s be the 12th man to make sure Mick gets his first home win!

Love Becky xx

WELL done lads, I’m proud of you. You were the equal of Liverpool for a game and a half before the floodgates opened in the replay. And that was a remarkable achievement, considering the squad we’ve had to choose from.

As soon as I got home from Anfield I switched on Sky+ to see the re-run of the game. Before the action started, though, we were treated to a camera crew entering the Town dressing room. A stereo was blasting out as the Sky chap tried to interview the now ex-gaffer.

Blackers denied the music (whatever it was) was his choice – and I believe him. That’s because a LTFC insider has emailed me with a list of tunes currently loaded on to Blackers’ iPod.

>> Theme tune from Mission Impossible
>> I Want To Break Free (Queen)
>> Sending Out An SOS (Abba)
>> Nothing Good About This Goodbye (Rachel Stevens)
>> Givin’ Up (The Darkness)
>> Never Had A Dream Come True (S Club 7)
>> Promises (Take That)
>> Since You’ve Been Gone (Kelly Clarkson)
>> Where Have All The Good Times Gone? (Elton John)
>> Laugh To Keep From Crying (Madonna)
>> The Long Goodbye (Ronan Keating)
